Sweet!
Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?

Hope you guys are having a nice holiday! Took the set out and ran it. Pretty nice. The yellow is actual paint, not molded. I have some gold trim pieces on order. The sheriff and outlaw car is a separate sale item.

LS,
I assume that this is the same loco as in the first post in this topic.
The yellow in your photo is not as garish as in the first one to my eyes.
Could this be a camera difference or what? Yours is much nicer.
I do admit that I have eye problems but not any that should cause this effect.
???

Hey Roge, this one is mine which I opened with my dad and daughter today (Bought 2/17, shipped on 10/31 and I had it wrapped up since). The original post was a stock photo I found to get some convo on the disappointing color scheme. Differences in camera, lighting and effects result in the color variance.

LS,
How do you feel about it now that you are looking at the actual loco?
It looks fine to me but I must say I don't know what was represented in the catalog.

I suspect the boiler is painted grey, as we know the brass boiler bands were painted, for some reason.

Roy I'll have to check the boiler....it probably is painted.

I've also ordered a set of chocolate brown fences for the 1877 to match the original '59 run. Paid so much attention to the engine, I initially didn't realize the yellow was incorrect!

I have been running it on my iPhone 7 with the LC app.....very cool. A big hit for me. The stuff you can do with the app is very cool.

Rog, until I get the original run parts on there in gold, and the fences brown on the 1877, I think it looks like you know what.

Isn't that generally brown also?

This is an SMR three-rail model of the General, as it looked at the time of the Great Locomotive Chase in 1862:

SMR imported a lot of very nice and accurate models. I had always hoped for a CVRR Pioneer to be announced, :|

I probably will end up doing just that - I have the plans and many photos and it's sitting in Baltimore so I can always take more photos as needed. Not sure about what I have in the way of a set of drivers and the other wheelsets, but I suspect I can get "close enough". I also wanted a 2nd one to bash into the Jenny Lind inspection engine.
