Just for fun, go back 6-8 weeks and check to see what if any of these have sold.

Doesn't matter. If Trainz doesn't sell, they drop the price by the assigned weekly number (oh, seven bucks?) and re-list.
If it DOES sell, some clueless individual has helped Trainz attain world junk domination!

I've bought some decent stuff from Trainz over the years, including a really nicely restored prewar Flyer 1201 which had its original super-rare boxed headlamp. Only one I've ever seen. I sent it on to Greg Turinetti for his collection. As with everything else, you just need to pay attention to what's being listed.

I disagree - still matters. Let's see it any of it ever sells or not be it Trainz or these other gits. The contention is the stuff is junk and grossly overpriced -- let's see it's fate. All you have to do is search by the listing number.

And I responded to that.

Just change Trainz to some other aspirant to World Junk Domination.

Ok, this is no longer worth pursuing if you are going to contend it's worthless junk and then have no real idea at all whether it ever sold for anything.

I have tried to post A) worthless junk or B) horribly overpriced "treasures" in my dissertations.
Since all anyone seems to have is their impression of what stuff is listed for on evilbait (or American Pickers) (or Pawn Stars) I suppose all the stuff I have that went for substantially less has no merit?

A $300 hairball painted 3-rail vertical motor NW2?
A MARX engine with the cab about corroded off?
A MARX 4-4-0 with the shell so badly broken there aren't enough pieces to glue it together?

I could make a list, but here's the latest:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/LIONEL-2328-23 ... 3695883494
At this point, doesn't matter if 2338 or 2328. Junk.
Parted out junk.

Name one person you know of with a postwar Lionel Geep who suddenly found hisself in desperate need of a frame?
The rust on that one requires glass beading and repainting, so no longer usable in a collector 2328 or 2338. Coulda done that with their old one.
Fifteen plus shipping?
Shell got sold off for more profit, if it was even usable, battery damage? This auto junk yard.
Makes profit from a rusted alternator and 7 cylinder V-8.

But SOMEBODY needs "bragging rights" to tell folks they "won" it on evilbait.

If you want to have Tranz buy your collection how do you get it to them?

We make fun of and question some of the listings on Trainz and I have a couple of questions.
Are they successful ? They seem to have been around for a while now and I would think they are making money. ????
Who writes the blurbs on their site to sell the product ? Someone with Trainz ?
I have stated before that I know little about e-bay but I assume the individual sellers write their own. ???

If I were to decide to sell my stuff ( don't interpret this to mean that I am but the time may be getting close)
who would be a good agency to contact to sell a small collection ?

I support thread drift.

One assumes that they have a template that they quickly fill in from copy & paste - very little new created goes into their listings.

I have a template that I use when for my listings -- maybe change 3-4 lines at the most in description and the shipping cost/means.

Doubt you'd get but pennies on the dollar from Trainz; might be best to do yourself - table at the local show / meets when they come back. List them yourself on eBay - work.....PITA shipping and dealing with some buyers saddled with major entitlement issues.

Martin,
Thanks much for your answers.
I have been selling some at our local show and seldom bring anything home.
I just know that I would hate the packing and shipping process.

What do you mean by "entitlement issues"?

It takes time and care to pack stuff the way you would want it done were you the buyer. Boxes and packing materials used to be free and easy for me but no longer. People also seem to think that shipping should be at prices from the 80's.

What do you mean by "entitlement issues"?

They get the item and start an argument regarding damage, etc. real or imagined or created by themselves demanding refunds, etc. w/o being willing to return the item.

That's a listing from "jektrainsandtoys", not TrainZ. Jektrainsandtoys has sold 672 items on ebay since March.

Ah, but the direct question was on evilbait stupidity.
"Ok, this is no longer worth pursuing if you are going to contend it's worthless junk and then have no real idea at all whether it ever sold for anything."

The gauntlet thrown didn't specify Trainz.
The gist had tended to drift more towards idiotbait.
And I had mentioned three that on thinking at least two, no, all three were NOT Trainz. Two MARX and one GM NW2.

The Postwar frame is a gimme.
