Not all sites support direct share as an "IMG" reference. In some cases you have to use the URL reference tool to open up a browser reference to the material. This is due to security settings on the source site with respect to "sharing". The server I have access to has enabled the "private/public" flag to allow easy web sharing.

My iCloud and Google accounts require that I a) enable sharing for the specific items and b) the material is only accessible as a url reference. There is no mechanism for an Img reference. The host ignores these types of requests. Unless it is a specific image hosting site, most servers do not allow use of direct image access for security reasons. It is more difficult for the provider to set up and maintain the security protocols that allow this work.

Here's how to share your photos on MTJ:

- Go to your image hosting service. Click on a photo you wish to post.

- On that page, there will be a Share button. When you click that, you will be given a menu of options, including one for Bulletin Board, BBCode, or similar. Click that.

- A box will appear with a link. Right click that link, then click Copy.

- On your MTJ post, click the Img button.

- Place your cursor between [img]_and_[/img], and right click. Then, click Paste. You're done.

I use the Preview button, to check that I've done it right. The photo should show up on the preview.

The question was about videos, not photos.

There is a specific "video" string but it does not appear to be supported on this server. It is video and /video. It doesn't work, I just tried it. The interface ignores the [] prefixes and I even tried the raw format of <>. If there is a quotation marker to pass it through I have no idea what it is.

I have used the URL flag to link to .mpr files I've placed up on the server. I will try one more experiment but I have low hopes. BRB

There used to be a plugin (actually several) for different types of "video". They have to be installed/supported. I don't think they are. Those lines that not read "didn't work" were tests of various tags which didn't work.

This is the only way I've gotten videos (MP4) to work, use the URL tag

The question was about videos, not photos.

I was addressing Neil and HONDO74. MTJ's attachment storage space is used up, so we have to use image hosting services to post pictures here.

As for video, I notice [flash] is turned off, here. I tried viewing my short video on Flickr, but couldn't. Not a great shock, as I'm running an old rig.

Flash is pretty much dead. It was too easy to compromise and use for malware.

Flickr does allow direct posting of photos. When you copy the BBCode link to your photo, it includes the code to display the photo(which is automatically re-sized by the bulletin board), along with a credit immediately below it. The credit provides a link to the full-sized photo, and another to your gallery, as well as naming Flickr.
