Finished, well almost. One teacup is giving me grief to get it to attach to base.

This is what it looked like about 1/2 way finished.

there are a lot of eccentric and non eccentric gear under the top. I had to disassemble twice to get all the parts to align properly. Bottom view shows a cleaver use of a chopped up rubber band to make feet.

There is a video of the final drive train test by hand. This was the third test. Previous two required opening up the case to re-align, make changes. Much more complicated mechanism than the train. I missed a view change from top to bottom and had installed a couple of critical parts upside down. There are almost no instructions per se, just drawings/photo's. You really, really have to pay attention.

here is a still shot of the completed project

and this is a movie of the model in action. There is a rubber band motor inside the base

Yellow cup wiggles loose after a few runs. Nice model, you need to be careful when assembling to make sure the parts are lining up properly.
Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?
