ASE certification tags all the way down their arm. Dead proud. Talk a good talk.
Hire them, hand them a work order and a set of keys...."Go get that 57 Chev, points, condensor, rotor, check the cap...replace the plugs, set dwell and timing, adjust the carb" and....they....have....no....clue.
There are no real mechanics any longer. If they cannot plug in their laptop or device and have it tell them what's wrong....no clue.

The museum is long-gone, having closed 15 years ago.

Sadder yet, there are NO real automobiles being made. I always thought the solid state ignition was a good thing.....if they had stopped with that!

Get into arguments with morons on car forums about that.
Two that I drive are US made.
No, they are not.
Yes they are.
No, engines are Korea, transmissions are Japan, suspension is Kajackistan.
Nope, US made.

Okay, smart guy, what year make and model?

1950 Ford Tudor, 1950 Ford F-1.

Ooops.

The three I drive have vent windows. Manual crank windows. Manual chokes, manual shift, one has Borg Warner overdrive, two have vacuum wipers, two have cowl vents.

Run into your Kia when you "fail to yield" and you get towed away...I drive home.

BTDT.

Exactly the same listing as first time, it seems.
Same "no returns" at bottom.
Allegedly first time it sold.....someone got a clue on real value and backed out?

I mean, add up the usable parts, figure in the half ton weight and overall size to transport.....nuts.

Shills at work?
