Roger, I had to kid Bob a bit, you know...........Lionel would be the LAST place I'd look to validate anything about a prototype engine. Bob has been adding that dash in there for a long time and it's incorrect. EMD (Electromotive Dynamic division of General Motors) did NOT use a dash in their nomenclature, end of story.

E7,
I knew that E-7 is wrong just as PRR K-4 is. :)

You will find it that way (E-7) SOME places on the Net, but it is incorrect. Am I always correct? Absolutely not, but I try to get it Write, and I don't mind being corrected if I am Rong!

Those kinds of mistakes are very easy to correct, once I become aware. Years ago somebody brought up the PRR standard, and I have never once made that mistake since. Same here - you wll not see me use the hyphen again on EMD Diesels.

Now I have to go check my SP steam nomenclature. It is easier without the dashes.

Bob, Take comfort in one of my late Pop's old sayings: The only guy that never makes a mistake is the SOB that never does anything!
