There is truth to that. The postwar style layouts are VERY easy to build - simple track plans, not much scenery w/ an emphasis on the trains. So , yes, I can build those quicker. The one I just did, at my new house, that is pretty much all hi rail. that being said, the track plan is pretty simple & the space is small, so those 2 factors work in my favor. Once we knew we were getting this house, I spent weeks planning on what the best track plan was for the space & where things should go. Even the extension was part of the original plan. Sometimes too much space could be a bad thing And to Roger's point, yes I try not to overcrowd the layouts - even the postwar ones. I always feel they work better if there is room to breath

Thanks for providing us cover, Christopher. The sad reality is that it would take me a year to accomplish what you do in a month.

Yes, I agree that Christopher's latest is more hi-rail than its immediate predecessors.
I recall seeing a very hi-rail layout by Christopher when he lived in Chicago possibly. ???
