Not bad looking. First time I ever saw one with flags.
But not new, not with that much smoke residue inside stack.
And no tender.
All for $900 OBO.

A NIB 736 WITH NIB long die cast tender is what, half that?

That does seem rather high especially without a tender.

Heck, a boxed set, track, cars, all of it, isn't worth that much money by a long shot.

But it's special...got it from an Estate!

Same seller, 11 bags of bits for $150:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/LOT-OF-11-DIFF ... 4766972092

Or an Aristo Trash Rogers....I've given these away. Useless chassis, $300:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/ARISTO-CRAFT-T ... 4869958104

Or Gumby's for $350!:

Bozo.

The Scenic Accent pack is not a bad price for those.
I just can't settle on a place on my layout for the Gumby stuff.
Think the track cleaner is a bit over priced. :o

That stuff retails for $18-20 ea. That's ~$200 retail. Some building a layout might think 25% off to be acceptable.

Or Gumby's for $350!

Toy collectors are crazier than train collectors, but that appears to be way out of line.

I've handled some early Disney toys that at 1st glance were trash until I did the legwork and found out they were selling for $2-3K.

Couple of points for reference here:

736, looks nice, WITH tender, WITH boxes, BIN just under $400:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/LIONEL-POSTWAR ... 3673467418

736, engine only, 3 bids, UP to $71.00. Some paint chipping, but for that price? Tested and runs:

Let's see where that one ends,
