TMCC Upgrade Path in Jeopardy
Re: TMCC Upgrade Path in Jeopardy
Don't be so hard on yourself. It's really hard to mix the two types on the same track/blocks. I've done it briefly for demonstration purposes and it's REALLY HARD!
Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?

Scott Mann of 3rd Rail/Sunset just posted that supplies of TMCC receivers and boards are not going away and people should be less hysterical. He was pretty gentle, but mostly he was saying stop being such jibbering idiots

I see that. All he is sayings is Lionel is working to authorize a re-seller for the boards. Of course the arm chair air executives are already picking his post apart.

I took a look jlong. Scott Mann said, "Folks,
Before this thread degenerates into a shouting match.... get off your computers and go outside, if the weather permits. It's probably a beautiful day where you are, go out and mow the lawn. Cheers all.
Scott Mann"
It is 124 °F here today and I don't have a lawn, just sand, rocks and cactus.

Wow, is that thermometer in the sun, or is that the real air temperature? It's 70 here today

Well Wayne, Go sit on a cactus and pound sand.

I spend entirely too many hours a day tying my shoes

In the shade.

I bought a special thermometer that reads to 130 °F for recording the true temperature at ground level in the Sonoran Desert. It is mounted under a tree out in the open because that is where I am when outside.
I have another thermometer mounted in an approved National Weather Service instrument shelter. It reached 111 °F today.
The weather station over at nearby Ryan Airfield peaked at 102 °F today. I have never seen the Ryan, Airfield installation. Might be worth a 10-minute trip to see how an official weather station mounts their instruments.
My thermometer does not go high enough for Death Valley, California. The hottest air temperature ever recorded in Death Valley was 134 °F (56.7 °C) on July 10, 1913, at Furnace Creek, which is the hottest atmospheric temperature ever recorded on earth.

Re: TMCC Upgrade Path in Jeopardy
Scott Mann of 3rd Rail/Sunset Models has announced they are taking over the provision of the most commonly used ERR products. Probably starting in June or later or this year. So all the hysteria, anger, threats of cutting Lionel out of their wills, and general bad karma stirred up by a few immature and negative yobs has resolved with a simple plan to continue the product line by a long respected vendor who uses TMCC and RS in their products. Thankfully. Certainly a good test of adult response to a necessary transition. Obviously a number of failures of this test amongst some well known service providers and usually reasonable hobbyists

That is awesome!
Now I've got to get hold of my lawyer to change my will back.
