Walthers MU cars 1937-60's

Postby Carey Williams » Tue Jun 30, 2026 5:29 pm

Hello all you may enjoy seeing a few of the Walthers MU cars in action ..

first shown in 1937 catalog and carried till the 60's ... unknown if unsold stock ...or if folks were really buying them ...not too many survivors out there.

early brass & bronze ...later tin & die-castings ... Walthers would sell you RTR painted model in the early days ..later just a box of bits with the instructions

Rode these things daily for several years between Berwyn, Rosemont, and 30th Street Station. Nice trip down memory lane. I may have some PRR ends.

If you go back to OST #113 & #114 you can read my 2 columns on one of John Armstrong's Walthers MU car. He had several and they all date to the early 50's.
What the herd hates most is one who thinks differently; it is not so much the opinion itself, but the audacity of wanting to think for themselves, something that they do not know how to do.
