Suggestions for headlights, number boards, etc.

Looking for suggestions for micro incandescent lights or maybe LED's. Not sure if LED's look correct. Headlamps, number boards, cab lights, etc. Cir-Kit wants almost $5 for each light which is a bunch.

May I suggest micro incandescent light bulbs sourced from Etsy, eBay, or Amazon?

Update, I found the article (Dan makes it so simple) and it's very informative. I printed it off and will start planning my light conversion. Thanks again!
