1939-40 NYC World's Fair Model Train

Hello all
The Eastern Railroads put on a monumental showing for the 1939 & 40 New York World's Fair including huge O scale layouts . Railroads in Action layout was 160' wide x 40' deep ...conveying a typical day on the railroad ...seen by 300 patrons , theater style seating , 30 minute show .
The railroad was renamed Railroads at Work in 1940. At the end of the fair the layout was dismantled , moved to Macy's (NYC) for the Christmas season, then sold off piece by piece you could own part of the legend .
Engines built by Fred Icken , cars by Ed Alexander
