Midwestern Model Works Latest?
I haven't been on the Net much, just wondering if MMW has managed to pull anything out of the hat yet?

Not a peep. At least you are still posting - where is Butch? Cole is lurking as I type- maybe he has heard something?

I be here.
Not much going on in my modeling world, so not much to say.
I saw some photos of the March Meet and MMW was there with some unpainted cars. Supposedly the SD-40's are coming in soon. Hard to believe the customers put up with this BS. Covid is over, but MMW and Kohs still use this excuse for delays. Funny, Scott has/had no problem bringing in his models, even during Covid.

It will be interesting to see how things pan out in the post covid world, although new toys is hardly a major issue. Right now I'm saving up to buy gasoline!

I saw the MMW table at the March Meet but didn’t have any interest in models displayed. No reason to stop. Seems it was the same old story as I couldn’t help but hear as I passed.
Be willing to bet there will be no models delivered by the ‘25 March Meet, hope I’m wrong for the folks who have deposits awaiting product.

Re: Midwestern Model Works Latest?
Based on MMWs recent General news posts the Coalporters could be delivered by the end of the year, it appears he has about 90 cars unreserved at this time. These were 600 reserved but will be 15% higher once he has them. The CenterBeam flat car is being reserved at 700 and the same 15% higher deal when he has them +215 for a lumber load, he has posted some pics of these. If you wait until he actually has them in stock you are looking close to 1K a car with shipping. As for the SD 45 project nothing definitive. JMO
Re: Midwestern Model Works Latest?
I don't believe he has delivered anything unless I missed it. Yet he still makes announcements of new cars and takes reservations. He took reservations on the locos long before any freight cars were announced and they still have been delivered. If his business fails it's his own fault. Obviously Koh's is in the same boat.

Re: Midwestern Model Works Latest?
I had sincerely hoped to see one of the MWMW projects get finished. The samples are so very beautiful; it’s just too bad it fizzled. Darn it.
Re: Midwestern Model Works Latest?
Projected pricing keeps rising on potential incoming models, the Coalporter cars seem to have the most samples. Roger Lewis latest emails suggest the Cal Zepher cars could deliver this year, anyone know the current pricing on these cars, pics show super detailed and reservations are still open.
Re: Midwestern Model Works Latest?
If he hasn't delivered anything as of yet..........................No Thanks!
Re: Midwestern Model Works Latest?
I really would love to see the SD-40 and 45's come in as they're desirable prototypes and a personal fave.
But then, another CZ run? Just seems like a bad choice given the glut of Atlas versions around. I'm assuming that MMW's would be a step WAY above the finest in fine scale like PRB's Prospector series but still....
Opinion.

Re: Midwestern Model Works Latest?
Atlas-O just announced they are producing a 73 ft center beam lumber car. This is the same freight car that MMW has a pilot model of pictured on their website.
The newest Atlas catalog says that their car will have "Die-cast construction with etched metal and ABS details" and that a removable lumber load will be included. Atlas' MSRP is $144.95, while MMW's website says their cars are $695 per car (no load) and a $200 per car deposit is required.
Over on North Korea, some chucklehead has already posted that they're going to stick with the MWMW version.
The TTX Story books (written by three retired TTX employees) says that TTX alone has 11,622 of these cars, built from 1986 to 2006. I don't know how many of these cars were built for other owners.
