You might like to see the Maurer DD1 in action
Made in 1947 .. sold for $400 ....rumor 6 were made .

Amazing how smooth this runs. Literally like a well oiled machine. So I can’t help but ask the obvious. If only 6 were made in 1947 at 400$ what would be the est value today?

Original price may or may not have anything to do with current price / value ....

In 1947 very few would be willing to buy a 400 engine ...
Today there are very few who collect and would pay huge amounts for vintage O scale ...

These are / were investments in enjoyment not for ROR

Yea that's about $5500 today...which for state of the art brass now sounds about right.

Thanks for sharing the videos. It is cool to see in action. Looks built by a real craftsman from that era.

Well, looks like a 1947 Ford Deluxe Coupe was about $1153 so there is a reference point.
