Golden Gate Depot Crescent Passenger Train

Postby DaveJfr0 » Thu Jan 11, 2024 12:22 am

Posted elsewhere, but incase someone sees it here and isn't a member of elsewhere, here we go:

If you didn't hear yet, Scott finally green-lit the Southern Crescent Passenger Train project this week. Website is updated. Lots of other prototypical road names for these car styles including PRR and Amtrak. This train did run on PRR trackage for a portion of its route. I've seen photos of GG1's pulling it. There may be a couple more updates to it, but you can check it out for yourself:

In the world of 3rd Rail/Sunset Models:
SD40-2's: I was able to squeeze in last minute artwork revisions to the Southern SD40-2's, so if you had one (or 3 like myself) on reservation, and if the factory implements the final design properly, you should be really happy in a few months when they're delivered. http://www.3rdrail.com/reservation.html#SD402

GP30's: These were announced in September. Lots of roads. I reserved 4 units as they were often seen running in consists of 4. Surprisingly, I didn't see NS as an option, but they had HH units too. Don't know if Scott is out of space to add roadnames, but doesn't hurt to ask if you want something you don't see.

There are, of course, reruns of previous Southern first generation diesels:

2024 is a great year for Southern modelers!
