I've never seen that either. Usually just a cast pot metal back head with limited detail and no brake rigging. The condition of your model is excellent.

The story is that these KTM models came from France, and my theory is that they my have been sold by Fulgurex and recieved upgrades for the European market. I’m guessing thou. They came to Australia as part of an inheritance Around 2005. Theres some paper work but it’s in French and I can’t read it.

Have you tried using google translate on a phone? You aim the phone's camera at the paper and it will try to translate it.

No but I will, its hand written back to the sixties. Im going to see if I can have a friend look at it to, but people are busy, see how it goes. I love a bit of history.

That is a really cool theory. It definitely has more detailing that a stock MG loco. I've never seen sanding lines coming out from under plates and the detail just looks "more". One of the nicest MG locos I've ever seen, but not familiar with the normal MG NW Mallet either.

Would that be Tenshodo, sometimes Tenshodo PFM?

Tenshodo was a BIG Japanese builder known for their "crowns". They did a pile of HO stuff.

The backhead is completely wrong. No Duplex stokers on a Y6b.

Was the cab soldered on or removable with screws? I've found discrepancies with back head detail by all mfgs, including a Sofue built FEF-2 and a PSC Crown BB..............it just seems to be the way they built them.
