Long lost engine returns to Delta Lines

Postby Carey Williams » Wed Nov 16, 2022 5:57 pm

Hello all

Frank Ellison's Delta Lines O scale layout was immortalized to many model railroaders with all the articles sharing tips on building , modeling and operating.
Delta Lines operated in two locations 1938-56...then dismantled ,sold (1957) ,moved (Boston) , stored ,moved (Fla) , stored ,..... Many / most remaining pieces were sent to Maurer's auction in 1992 ...pieces scattered across the country. At the auction it appears Doctor Joe Weber purchased the Consolidation, Hudson ,Mikado & a string of cars ...later to be displayed at the Poconos Museum Unlimited 1996-early 2000's when the museum closed . Mikado surfaced on eBay in 2011 and went to the Twin Cities....now in the Windy City running once again between Donaldson , Raymondale , Chapelle & Gina.
The Mikado was introduced late 1946 by Hines , designed by Bill Lenoir with bronze castings by Adams & Son. ...yes of course still running with outside third rail.
Please see link for video .
