Like Martin, all I could find were historical references.

This is one result of a search I did for monel metal:

https://www.thomasnet.com/products/mone ... 202-1.html

I just did a quick scan, but they might do what you want.....can't say they will do it at you price.....

Crank up your search engine and let 'er rip!

For a hundred grand or so I can get lots of stuff done at foundries anywhere.

I am not interested in ferrous or monel metal castings. All I want is a few slabs poured in aluminum or bronze. There are folks -like Allan - who do that as a hobby. I just don't know any of them. My patterns are somewhere in Pennsylvania. They are E7B, and I was hoping for aluminum at fifty bucks a side. The quote was lower than that, but four years ago.

So out of embarrassment, I grabbed the GS-3 out of the hangar, cleaned it up, and added tender center sill and a nice tail beam. Still need some work on the tail beam, but I am happier with this fine example of Korean craftsmanship and paint ovens:

Back to Carey - he recently acquired an early Lobaugh Challenger ("Baby," or "Fetters") but no tender. Probably Trainz, since they seem to delight in separating such things. So happens I have a spare - building it up this evening:

I also have his GS-4 photos - later, maybe?

Could be - this one came poorly assembled, rear bulkhead and all. I cleaned it up a bit, and now - ladders.

Hello all

Thank you Bob for your help with the tender .

Early 1938-39 Lobaugh Challenger ..found on ebay ...but not Trainz ...was sold with an odd home made tender ..

please see link for video of engine running on bench ...needs a bit more help before hitting the rails...but soon ..

One seller has divvied up a 1937 Lionel 700E Hudson. That, it seems to me, is blasphemous. I would not bother with the 700E, since there are truly good inexpensive repros that do not seem to explode, but still . . .

I would rank separating Lobaugh or USH as worthy of a week in Purgatory, but this has to be a mortal sin.

The early challenger tender is difficult to solder so its sides are ripple-free. That may be why Carey's new example had a "cobbled together" tender. The original has an elegant bronze main frame.
