Our annual New Year's Day run is cancelled. Hated to do it.
Temperature at night has been in low teens, had five inches, last night almost three more.

Walkways outside are compact ice. I have plowed most of it (until last night), switches frozen, rail contracted and in some places pulled out of joiners.
Frost heaves makes roadbed effectively unusable.

Week or two it will be fine, but it's what you fight with Mother Nature.
