Not quite sure but I see an UP Challenger superstructure and both front and back engines, Centipede tender and other locos I can't identify. The detailing on the Challenger looks really nice but not sure it's Lobaugh, so you experts need to chime in. At current bid price it's a good deal for someone.

The two smaller cast boilers are Scale-Craft -- one is a NYC Hudson and the other an ATSF Mikado.
Slow progress is better than no progress

I'd rather have the 200 bucks.

With a LOT of work, money and parts, MAYBE that X-6-6-X could be fixed. Interesting batch of leftover workbench trash.
The SC Mike has never been touched. Casting line down the top of the boiler, rough casting....gave up on Hudson, albeit it is a later one with rotating steam dome reverse.
For no other parts for either, no value other than scrap weight.
I mean, you're gonna write to Donnelly and request chassis, rods, cylinders, motor, detail parts...all that?
Somebody bid on it at least once.

At that price I will bid. The Challenger appears 90% complete. Stevenson has the missing parts. I would eBay the SC boilers for fifty each.
Shipping seems a bit high, but $250 is in my budget.

Re: This is interesting on EB
There seemed to be a lot of value for the right buyer and I would sell off what I didn't want too. I have no interest as I have enough simpler projects in the queue to last me a lifetime.
But, if a guy had a Lobaugh kit with a bad boiler or missing front or rear engines, this could be a buy.
If you look at the sellers history he's an estate sale scrounger and most likely has no idea what he bought. Shipping does seem high.

Trailing truck, and you probably have one. Smokebox front......maybe.
I KNOW you have the back end for that tender, because I sent it to you!
Scrolling deeper....interesting...Atwater F unit instructions?
Thomas tank car?
I do see the centipede frame with wheels. Bonus.
Adams sand cast 4-drive axle unmachined frame....looks like relieved for 4-wheel lead truck....interesting.
Still, if you have the parts, yes.
You could just drive up to La Crescenta on a Saturday morning and pick it all up.

Probably go for $500. If I could get it for $250 I might consider a $50 drive - but gas here is $5/gallon and we are looking at 200 miles, so may be cheaper to ship.

Fly into Burbank and have him meet you there. Eight miles by road?
Of course, you'd need to not fill the tanks before coming back so the extra weight won't get you in trouble on takeoff.
You really think 50 for bare SC boilers? Really?

Easy. You bought a loaf of bread lately? Money is worthless.
Re: This is interesting on EB
For what it's worth, I ebay-ed a donated A&S pacific chassis with a SC AT&SF mike boiler last December for around $110 including shipping.
Note the previous owner had done some surgery to remove one of the domes and associated piping.
I'd call it a basket case though that A&S chassis was an excellent running watch-like mechanism, I have some regret now over disposing of it.
The buyer expressed delight with the purchase.

It is over $300 now, and I so far have not bid. I may, but I do not want to simply drive it up to my personal maximum and then be outbid, thus costing a friend the opportunity. If any of you have a particular interest in this one, let me know before I drive it up beyond what it might be worth. I have plenty of all of the things offered in this one, and need no more - but I would enjoy assembling one more.

Cancel that. It passed my price of interest about $100 ago, and may exceed my above estimate.

Yeah, it just sorta zoomed off.

And then it paused at $585 for 12 hours. Just the top edge of its value, assuming the missing pieces can be had. We shall see, but it won't grace my work table, where plenty of missing pieces reside.
