Nice layout, but I don't understand why they squandered all that space by modeling in HO. :D

Whoops! Sorry guys. How exactly can you tell its HO? I’m a little out of my element with 2 rail but this came up on my YouTube feed and it looked pretty cool. I’m sure the OP’s intent was O 2 rail videos.

Greg, Sometimes it's difficult when there's not much to judge the scale against. Not a BIG deal (joke intended, LOL) as there are a couple other HO heresys already posted (intentionally) because they are way spectacular.

Does this forum actually HAVE a moderator/"bossman"? Also I keep asking about emptying the photo server so we can easily post photos but I never get an answer. Is this a "ghost ship" forum that just keeps going without any crew?

I don't know how Chris Webster tells it's HO but...
The video states, "Wyoming Division MRR Update and Tour - Section 2 of 3"
The Wyoming Division MRR website states, "The Wyoming Division is a large HO gauge model railroad club layout in a 3,750 square foot building in Cornville, Arizona"

"How exactly can you tell its HO?"

It would be difficult to get that many 0 scale cars into a shot at those angles from that close.

Your tank engines are fascinating, can we get a few mug shots of them clear of the bridge girder?

After I watched these a couple of times I realized my framing the shot to show only a sceniced scene really took away from the stars of the show. I’ll fix that and post later. Thanks for the kind words. Oh BTW, the double headed shot ends too soon because for some reason if #7 is coupled to #5, she picks a switch beyond the bridge which she doesn’t do alone. I need to work on their consisting speed.

The #7 locomotive is an old PSC Hammond Lumber Co model and #5 and #6 are NWSL ALCO 2-8-2T erroneously called Minarets by Toby. (there was only 1 locomotive called a Minaret by ALCO a 2-10-2 made for the Sugar Pine Lumber Co)

I painted, weathered and did the lettering and decal (homemade) work myself. The log cars are from the Car Works as is the Barnhart Loader. I painted all but 3 of the the log cars and loader myself.

Peter,
Beautiful log trains.
I usually do not like sound but think it is exceptional here.
It seems to be just right. Not overpowering or wimpy.
Very nice.

Roger,

Thank you for the kind words. The beauty of O scale is there is room for decent sized speakers that produce superior sound at lower volumes. I’ve never heard an HO horn or whistle that didn’t sound like a toy!! The 2-6-6-2 has twin iPhone 4 speakers front and back as the QSI decoder is true stereo. One of the 2-8-2’s (the quieter chuff) has High Bass speakers front and back with QSI stereo and the other a single 3” speaker with a WowSound decoder. I find running everything at a lowish volume adds to the experience instead of over powering it.

Peter
