Just spotted this on eBay. Guy selling it reached out to me last year about the history of the structures I tried to inform him to the best of my knowledge and went to a longer time member than myself to get more data.

Been busy these days with 2 kids under 4 so my model trains have been on the shelf so to speak.

Too my knowledge the club was dissolved.

As far as rebuilding anything in Denver like a model railroad layout in a large space; it’s financially near impossible for most any model railroad club I have ever heard of. Real estate is still outrageous here, no ridiculous. Ever since they legalized pot prices on everything have gone insane here. Don’t blame me I didn’t vote for it and it sure doesn’t benefit anyone I know except some college aged friends that like getting high on student loans.

I am working with Jim Brandenburg on a book about the layout now we have 1000’s of photos of the layout and it should be a great tribute to an amazing railroad.

Was this layout always 2 rail or was it originally outside 3rd?
I do realize that it could have been modified and/or rebuilt over its life span.
I remember some photos that were shown when it was being taken down.

Thank you Erik for posting the link and all the great photos ....shame the layout was taken down with so much history behind it ...huge unused space in passenger stations, favorite homes for many model railroad layouts ...is very rare these days ...... Just another testimonial that if your club doesn't own the space it is in, it had better try to procure it, or start looking for a location it can call it's own. Two other examples: The Twin City Railroad Museum and Aberfoyle Junction, both of which were lucky enough to find new quarters.

If the option to the property owners comes down to a train layout or making big bucks, start packing.

Is it just my thinking or are railroad clubs becoming more rare as time goes on? I sure don't know of many in existence today.

There seem to be several around this area that do not have a permanent layout, only modules that can be put together at shows.

There is a listing on the O Scale Kings website, and a similar one in the 1st, 3rd, and 5th yearly issues of O Scale Trains mag.
