Look closer; some are missing rungs and at least 1 is missing a lot more

Quick eBay question - and, no thanks, I make my own ladders:

If an item sits around for a week with no bids, does eBay allow a communication like “would you sell it for $50 plus actual postage?”

I know they do not allow such things outside eBay, but this would be sort of inside the process. It doesn’t seem to be covered in their simplified policy discussions.

Time? Maybe a little - photos and listing info and navigating eBay's selling page....
Money? How? Listing is free and he's charging $4 for shipping. You can send a small enough box for all of these 1st class for $3.50. I keep a supply of such boxes on hand just for shipping small detail stuff.

The first item ever sold on Ebay was a BROKEN pen.......and it's been all downhill ever since!

If they sell for $1.99 + $4.00 shipping that equals $5.99. Minus 14 % that brings it to $ 5.12. Take away $3.50 for shipping. Leaving $ 1.62. That is if buy it now listings are free. I only get list anything auction style for free.

It's still 13%, I think...

So it costs him 30% to that's still $1.25 he gets to pocket selling junk. Of course we're assuming that the cost of the box, packing materials, trip to the PO are all free. 1st 2 are free for me, and I'm at the PO at least once a week and drive by it daily regardless.

Still, not a bad way to get someone else to pay you take out the trash. I used to sell stuff and still do now and again that I could not get a $1 at a show or meet - #1 objective is to make it go away and break even; if there's profit, even better.
