I have an old (Walthers?) Heavyweight RPO car.
In my mis-spent youth, I painted it. Attached ends to floor.

This appears to be what one of y'all call a MK2. No nail holes in sides.

I would normally just epoxy the sides on. Me and Goo or contact cement don't get along well together. I get too many items through here with failed Goo.

I need to clean up these things sitting on shelves so at least all the parts are attached.

Was that a question or just a declaration?

let's see. I need to figure out a glue that will hold and not fail. My experience with Goo is not good. Epoxy would work, albeit difficult with exposed area and setup time, but if I'm quick.....


We had a thread or two on MTJ, but probably a couple of purges ago.

What glue do you use to attach Walthers metal passenger car sides to the wood floor and cast ends?

Try a better quality glue. Go to your local auto upholstery shop and get some "top and landau" glue. Or at least get a can of Weldwood contact cement. Martin will tell you about the super glue trick. I am trying it, but have not personally verified his findings.

No, I won't. It's told for too many years and it's been verified by too many people.

I've also used Weldwood contact cement with great success.
