Warning from Microsoft

On NBC News last night, the announcement was made warning people not to install Windows10, October Update, Version1809. The WARNING originated with Microsoft which said, "it had paused distribution of Windows10 Update Version," because it was taking people's photos and files.

In unrelentingly consistent fashion, MS once again screws up an update.
Remember when we used to refuse updates, wait a week, and search those KB's out on da early net to see which ones worked and which ones didn't...

I have, sitting nearby, a Win10 laptop.
In fitting with my personal mantra of never again paying any money to MS for anything....this was free.

I have been playing with it. Just to see if the world ends and it's all we have.

This weekend I fully killed auto updates...waiting to see if they override that (had it happen 10+ years ago with XP).

Annihilated Cortana. about:config'd the telemetry to nothing.
Stopped Edge.

Stopped Windoze Mail.

Firefox and Outlook Express (!) installed.

GREEN XP start button. Usable start menu and control panel.

Still killing and adding stuff.

There is no way in a sane world folks should put up with this garbage out of the Clowns of Redmond. But they do.

Now I wait and see what happens.
