Well there's two bids on it, so someone will find out. It's an interesting question, how much bead blast would it take? Eat away the more marginal parts of the frame in the process etc. at some point you're into wet sanding and splicing brass strip, channel and plate with a res iron, might be fun if you didn't have anything better to do.

My financial manager is balking at the astronomical bid of $7 US
, but it would be good for representing a wreck or maybe mounted on a "concrete" pad as a stationary tank.

Long time ago I bought a New Sunset USRA Light 2-8-2 from a hobby shop. When It was delivered, it was so bad and he would not take a return, I used it to model a boiler explosion.

Depending on how far away, it might have been inspiration for a trip.
If it happened these days, you could "offer" to post pictures of it on the net and attribute them to that weasel. Never ceases to amaze how many low-lifes are out there.
