The Henry is unique and a beauty, but too large for my layout. I’m waiting for MTH to come out with the HP Transfer in 3.0 with Scale wheels. It’s just as ugly, cheaper, and the size I’m looking for!

You can call Brasstrains and see if the seller will take a lower offer. If he does you won’t see a price change, just a sold sign.

I did, but the original post was unclear if that afor sale price or if there was a sold sign on it.

Yes, The Henry sold within 24 hours after listing.
If you want something form Brass Trains you can make an offer.
Most items on Brass Trains is purchased by them, not consignemnt.
They most likely paid the guy 25% less than what they sell an item, as
that is their fee wether purchasing or consigning.

Seems to me that the tariff on this one from SS3R was circa $1700-S1800. Looks like a case of "I missed it once, it ain't gonna happen again."

There was a nice write up on this engine in OST. A guy tore his apart and smoothed out what he considered to be some of it's deficiencies. Big enough that I think it would be a real PITA.

Supply and demand - there are only so many, in all probability never will be any more (just how many were imported?), so price tag is pretty open ended at the demand end
