Anybody have any experience with these? Are they decent models with a good paint job?

Well, darn if that doesn't look like the one Bud Cantlay had. I shall check my photos.

I like Scale Craft models, but hey are crude. $300 is about tops for even the best ones, in my opinion.

Looks like that one was painted with a wisk broom!

They are sand-cast bronze.
Rough.

A whole lot of filing, sanding, filler, sanding, filler, more sanding and paint, and they can be smooth.

WAY too much Lubri-Plate on the main gear. They are porous phenolic, hold lube, rarely wear out, don't need half a can of grease.

I'd have to czech, but the tender doesn't look right at all. May be a brass sheet overlay.

For a non-original SC Mike, $295 plus $25 shipping is too much (burner).

Mine was a whole lot cheaper.

I suppose these stack up as not quite doorstops but yikes! Both Lobaugh (except the tender, of course). Both on the kitchen table getting nightly appurtenances while I watch what he did today (see TV on left).

Bob, they look good from what I can see but I think your camera focused on the background instead of the subject.

It was my iPad, and just a quickie. I will get portraits when they are done. My iPad does not respond well to my greasy finger, so usually when it does click I am shaking.

I do not know why, but my least favorite part is pilot ladders and what they attach to. I think I need Mapp gas for that kind of soldering.

Let me know when you get that technique down Bob, pilot ladders kick my *** everytime regardless using probe or tweezers.
I'm ashamed to say what I settle on doing with them.

(hint it involves engine block adhesives)
