I think these are interesting; I recall seeing a photo of one in service in Manhattan in an old Freeman Hubbard era Railroad Magazine, there was a flagman on horseback preceding it as it made its way on street trackage delivering reefers on what I think was the upper west side, accordingly the caption indicated the short branch was referred to as the "Cowboy Line."
