The brass model arrived in fine condition.


There was a faded envelope inside the box that had these 3X5 library cards enclosed. I’m sure from previous owners who back in the day brought it to shows.

Pretty nostalgic if you ask me!

Let’s start with the tender. Very nicely detailed and for not having factory paint, whoever did the paint job was pretty darn good. The Milwaukee Road decal had me a bit upset as the lettering looked stained, but the more I studied it the more I appreciated the stains and wondered if in real life the same thing happened to real tenders. I’m not going to change or replace it. I like it.
One thing missing from the paint job are the Black stripes. Let’s see if we can fix that!

I like the fade of the gold myself. Looks as it should, and the history is a good thing too.

Yes. Very nice. Do not turn your nose up at a favorably priced Weaver Hudson- they are built like a tank, and factory painted in the Milw. tradition.

Just curious, do you know who owned the model before you?

The reason I ask. Lou owned a model just like yours and he was notorious for writing notes about his models on index cards then placing them in the models box. Looks a lot like his writing.......probably looks like just about 2 million other old timers I suppose. Anyway, just curious.
