Nice work. Probably not. If it does, there are ways to improve pickup. Look at all those wheels on the tender that are available for pickup.

Nice job! I like it when I see a modelers getting things done with basic hand tools. Not all of use can justify drill presses and milling machines. The wheels look great and I agree with Bob, installing pickups shouldn't be much of a problem.

Is that all the voltage you need? 9.6? If i was leaving my layout up i'd switch.

Since I find conventional DC track power perfectly reliable, I can't justfy all the expense for the components shown to do the same thing.

Before someone throws out the "wiring is difficult" chestnut, I find wiring a layout no more difficult than wiring all that stuff in a loco, and I only wire the layout once.

That said, to each their own, and I'm not about to evangelise my control system choices (or track gauge choices, or scale choice, or number of rail choices) on anyone else as in a matter of religion.

For me, the wiring is the simplest and easiest part of layout construction.
