Maybe, it will also eliminate excess failure.

And, it will keep some from doing amazingly stupid things, like buying a brass engine that one can't run on one's layout, or having to take out a loan to buy. My CFO takes a dim view of my excesses....

Agreed....if you're borrowing to buy this kind of stuff, you have a PROBLEM. As for CFO's, never hurts to have a "sanity check"! :D

Or I get it and run it on a future layout. This is sometimes a hobby of just stashing away models in closets for decades, amirite?

If you have the disposable cash and space, maybe. That future may never materialize...

I agree.

A man's got to know his limitations, for how else can he feel the satisfaction that comes from exceeded them?

If you exceed them, then, you didn't really know them, did you?

Tom, I believe that depends entirely on who imposed them.

Grin!

Hello all

Here is a door stop era Big Bambu ......hand crafted out of wood, bristol board ? steel + brass , 4 trucks with lots of brake stuff...pity the poor brake man turning the brake wheel as this car rolls down a hil . Price was right ..was added to a pile of vintage cars with no increase in outlay . Can we assume there were plans to make one of these in MR at some time ?
If it can not turn on a 48" radi ...may just have to live on a siding .

Cheers Carey

Rolling right along at $900+.

Not really my cup O' tea, but interesting.
