Delta Models is pleased to announce that the DM 275 one piece Pullman style roof castings are now available for retail.
this part was one of the most asked for parts for O scale passenger car models. It has been discussed both here and
on other forums as well as a needed item.

It has been worked on for some time now and is ready for release. The casting is 20.375 l x 2.5 w x .187 thick.
has been designed to be used with all American standard --- American Lightweight car kits --- Union station Products car
sides also. It was dry fitted to a AM std car body and was a clove fit. has the weld seam detail and side air ducts detail at the
vestibule end of the car.

We are very happy with the quality and finish on the casting. It is basically paint ready after cleaning to remove mold release
and some flash removal.

I am happy to say finally the one piece resin casting for the Pullman streamline roofs are now in stock.
there is a minimum order of 4 roofs @ 45.00 each 180.00 for 4 . Yes I know these are expensive, but I think you
will like what you receive. People who have seen these have been very happy.

We are sorry but can not offer a discount for bulk order, material cost just does not allow it.

This will be a regular in stock item to be carried from us.

This has been in the works for almost 16 months, I finally had to go to a second source to have them made.

Anyone know the actual status of American Lighweight Car Company? I know the kits can be found, but are they still being produced? Last I heard the owner was having trouble getting castings made. Can’t recall his name but I think he went by VGN65 or something like that.

Does this replace the Union Station Products roof in their core kit or is the core kit even needed?

Any plans on offering car ends to go with the roof?

Thank you for your interest and questions. American light weight for all practical purposes is not producing
any more to my knowledge. He bought the line some 7-10 years ago and never did any thing with it. People tried to help him
with the castings and he would never follow through.

Now UST products core kits from what I read has not been user friendly for the roof. people say its a mixed bag.

I worked on a roof to represent a welded Pullman roof and DM 275 is the result. I have sold over 32 roofs since this release posting.

Now you can make very nice cars using the following products which we already have in the line of castings. You buy the following
parts DM 275 roof DM 222 ends DM 222A - D doors DM 223 or DM 224 Vestibule doors.

Now you buy your sides fro UST Products and build you car. Tell him to cut you sides with .030" styrene and the DM 275 roof
works very well .

I have many new things on the futures list and in development. Did I say Pullman dome interiors---Observation tail end and Buffer castings.

Thanks Bill, I forgot you also offered the ends.

Any plans to offer ACF and/or Budd roofs and ends? I’m looking to build a couple of cars for Atlantic Coast Line but about all USP offers are sides for ACF cars for ACL.

I didn’t know we could request thick sides from USP, good to hear!

It would be nice to offer a Budd or ACF roof as well. What is rhe difference in my DM 275 and ACF?
But unless there is a large interest the cost makes it hard to tool up for these. My cost just to get my
first Pullman roof tooling shot was close to a 1000.00, So I love it when someone goes ballistic about my retail part cost.

I hear it all the time. I am offering a niche product that one day may go away like a lot of small train businesses.
So it's always for sale if some one is interested

I presently have close to 300 parts in the line right now, with 10 new things in the works.

Now UST will cut what ever side thickness you want. The reason I mention .030" , this is what all the sides for
are in the ANSTD and ALW kits have. My Pullman roof was designed on that principle.

I don’t think there’s any difference between the PS and ACF roof, but I haven’t looked that closely. The Budd roofs that I’ve seen have ribs running the full length of the roof.
