I thought he hated them all....did not know that that particular specimen in San Mateo was the only one...he even hates sand cast FT Bulldog Noses.....and Helio Couriers.....

Not a fan of the Courier - except when it is used for jungle resupply/rescue. Then it shines. Few know how to properly fly them.

The PA nose - and the E-7 nose - a thing of beauty and grace when properly done.

This offering? The trucks and gearboxes are worth $150. The "B" body is ok, and the aft shell of the A is usable. The green stuff comes off quickly. Re- soldering is not difficult. The nose is semi- hopeless; wrong shape, wrong contours, and worst of all, not long enough by a bunch.

I figured my name would come up - that is why I did not post earlier. Off to the airport.

How come it's not RARE?

That's easy to deal with; some 20-30% acetic acid for 20 min and a methanol wash and its gone, and ready to paint. Or, use 5-10% muriatic, rinse and go paint.

As one who is just learning to paint brass, is there a reason for methanol as opposed to another rinse, such as soap/water/isopropyl/etc? My 20 hours of college chemistry are too distant to sort this one thru.

Not. Yes, you can do that, yes you can clean it, yes you can resolder the ends, yes you can find all the missing parts.

I did not state "no big deal".

I'm only supplying the information on one aspect since all too many do not how to address that specific and run away screaming like little girls when confronted by copper corrosion on brass.

The rest is immaterial to me - it's a pile of scrap metal and worth only that to me....if I was collecting for the scrap dealer, and I'm not

eBay used to have a mechanism to report a fraudulent listings.....knock yourself out chasing that down.

Key words..."used to". Is it fraudulent? Who knows. Does it match the description? No. Since I never did any CLW, at all, did that set come with all the frames, sideframes, drives, motors and detail parts in one BOX? Note the lack of a "box" in the listing photos.

Scrap brass, yes. Send the FA nose off to Burner.

This is a "humor on evilbait" posting, right? And somebody bid on it (once) so it must be a good deal.

Certain sellers always seem to have 1 bid on their wares early on, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Didn't say there was. Commenting that one person has bid, so they must see some value (like Burner's $150 for the drives bit).

All that a bid indicates is that someone, somewhere believes it to be worth that amount to that bidder.

Whether that is a good deal depends on what the bidder(s) may believe.

As it has zero value to me, I will not bid.
