Re: Brass? Right.
Oh, it is, and I probably have two.
But it's not
A) Brass
B) A Boxcar
nor C) double doors (unless you try to count reefer doors as "double")
Worth maybe ten bucks as is, delivered.
Turner...errr....opinion

Perhaps. And maybe it could be "resurrected" with an interesting weathering exercise, too. Price is not that bad actually when trucks and couplers alone can set you back more than $20 these days; Athearn trucks run $8-12, IM wheelsets are another $6-12, and couplers are $3-4....... I will have to see what these items are selling for in Chicago. And, it's not like I've never bought a beat up car and salvaged those items in the past.
Then again, here's another gem: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-rail-O-scale- ... 2883741326

I'd seen that. You notice this is the "last of his trains". He threw in some roof stock...wonderful. Notice no boxcar doors, guides, ladders, grabs, brakewheel, roofwalk. Oh, and BONUS! you get another body with no appliances whatsoever....and the woodgrain looks like plywood or a chunk of 2X4.
Plastic Athearns, plastic wheels. 10 might not seem bad, but 22 is. That's with the required 12 shipping.
I buy beat up stuff all the time. And resurrect them.
That is not the purpose of this thread.
Seller says "brass". It ain't. Seller says double door boxcar. Ain't.

And the wagontop box car is not Athearn or All Nation - that roof stock is worth the money if had to buy new - $17 ea +S/H new
2nd body might be a Picard Novelty......

Shucks. Thre is "some" brass involved, and if you just say "O Scale" the only folks who see the ad are Lionel searchers. Remember Martin pointing out how the eBay catgories got screwed up? I think that has messed up a lot of titles.

Ain't that hard. Create bookmarks with favored search terms and avoid the general search.
