Yes, and it worked. You could run faster on curves and go up steeper hills. Seems that it was
dropped mostly when traction tires came along although there are a few locos with both.

I,m sure you realize that my comment was because two photos were up-side-down.

Roger, I was actually trying to see where the magni-traction actually tied into my post. The photos are right side up on my phone looking at the MTJ forum.

But getting on my computer I see now. I think I fixed it! :D

They can sell multiple sets of traction tires, but MT only gets your dollar once.

Good morning fellow hobos! I won these 31 brass catenary poles on eBay for $33 including shipping. For starters I’ll change out the base plates for something more realistic. I just need to figure out a way to attach the H-beam pole to base. Any suggestions?

Also I’m considering changing out the pole arms to 1/8” brass square tubing with a support bracket. Sarge suggested just soldering a support bracket to the the existing arm. Thoughts?

Might have gotten a good buy on H beams there, Jon.

Take a look at these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/5-O-ga-trolley ... SwlLlcFa~~

Rufus, those poles are nice! I’m hoping to get my H-beams looking similar for less money! Looking at those pole bases gives me an idea that if I can find brass tubing with the correct internal diameter I can insert the H-beams in that, then epoxy a screw in the bottom.

Measure and let me know - I'll see what's in the brass tubing box. Might have some aluminium in there, too,

Thanks, Rufus! The catenaries should arrive on the 29th. I’ll shoot you some measurements then!
Meanwhile, back to yard work!

Roger, my mother in law asked if she could borrow my mower as hers was broke. And there you have it.
