I knew the name of at least a later incarnation of the road name and just liked all the color combinations; a little variation in the color schemes at the train rolls by.......

When were the ice hatches turned to face the ends of the car.

The ice hatches turned in is either SP or ATSF practice, can't remember which one at the moment.

Well that turned out well; those fox trucks are the icing on the cake.

Nice job!!! Lots of decals to screw up on and they all look great and that car should stand out on any railroad. Don't think I've ever heard of that brand in the midwest.

All Clover House dry transfers that you apply and seal color layer by layer. A bit of effort but slow and steady gets these done and I'm pretty pleased with the final result.

East Coast car from Philly,

On to the next car!

Cream of the crop! Udderly awesome! Milk on the mooove.

Where did you get the Fox trucks?
You begin flying with a full bag of luck and an empty bag for experience. The object is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

Thanks!

Those came courtesy of Prof. Criswell - I'm guessing Thomas from many years ago.

Great Northern had a (one solid color boxcar) (steam diesel transition era) with a cartoon characterization of their mascot Rocky on it. I don't recall seeing any other car of that color (pretty distinctive), but I ain't seen 'em all and my memory stinks!

Looks marvelous! Would rival some of Bob Anson's work as on the Hobyhill reefers, and that's a high compliment!

Regarding Fox Trucks, Marty Milner of Scale City Designs offers a kit for these trucks w/o wheels. The cast soft metal side frames have brass bearing inserts and I purchased two pair from Marty at the last Strasburg meet in April. I assembled them using 33" NWSL wheel sets with blunt axles and they roll just fine. Stevenson Preservation Lines also offers these in lost wax brass. I have a pair of them also. I believe these originated from Dennis Mashburn and may have been produced using the plastic Fox truck side frames from an AHM Casey Jones tender. They are somewhat larger than the Scale City trucks. I have only seen the Thomas Fox trucks for sale one time a a York TCA meet and my friend who likes to build turn of the 20th century models purchased them at my suggestion.
