That's the motor I am looking for. CLW used these motors in their early direct drive mechanisms that put the motor low in the basic frame between the loco's trucks. Let me know what I owe you for it and shipping.

My first scratchbuilt used one of these with the skewed armature. It ran smoothly and noiselessly right off the bat. Not many of my susequent models ran so well on the first attempt.

Every time I see one of these motors, I remember the first time I put an ammeter on one to see how it would handle my 1 amp HO decoder...............yikes 6 amps!! I never had a brand new one so I would be curious if design or age contributed to the high (IMHO) amps!

I have one good motor like this and it draws about one amp. The second one was destroyed while testing a mechanism up on blocks on my layout while I was sitting a few feet away at my workbench. The permanent magnet field picked up a loose steel washer that became lodged between the armature and the field and caused the motor to lock up. By the time I noticed that the motor was no longer running. it was way overheated and drew over 5 amps when power was re-applied to it. It has been junked for parts. I hope to receive a replacement soon. Live and learn! I don't think there is anything normally wrong with these older CLW open frame motors. This was my fault for not paying attention and trying to do two things at the same time.
