First is the Alco PA set, notice how short these are compared to the CLW PA on the top shelf. Interestingly, the A unit has a giant open frame motor with double shafts leading to some IMP like fabricated gear towers.. Typical all brass gears and wheels. The only thing not brass are the crumbling journals. I think between Carey and myself we must need hundreds of journals for the these early Japan Brass locos and cars lol.
I've only seen one other set like this.
Next is something that seems to be a cross or mash between early EA/E1 details. I wish it had the round Portholes. This one only has a cheesy vertical single motor. I'd plan on repainting it in nice UP colors with some matching cars and of course maybe repowering it. I struggle with the keep it original to maybe period upgrades, versus putting CLW gearboxes and a can in it. But then I am cheap so that probably means more original. I wish it was set up like the Alco PA. I did some more research, looks like the B&O had the first EA with these square side windows and ATSF had the next ones that were called E1's. The UP had the next versions with portholes and a different nose among other details. So I am torn, leave them the factory painted wrong color or repaint them B&O or ATSF. They would look great in the early Warbonnet scheme!

Next are a couple of E7 sets that I got at the last Chicago O scale meet. First one looks pretty decent but with Union Valley lettering instead of B&O. This one has a fantastic looking drivetrain under it, and I'll get some pictures of that to add later. I won't touch the paint on this one.
Next is another E7 set with an attempt at EMD demonstrator paint. It is very vivid!!
Anyway, something different and of course all two rail or outside third.
