Running my D&RGW Prospector

Postby Pacific Limited » Mon Feb 09, 2026 11:25 pm

Fun times in 1/4 scale trackside

1 of a kind FT set rebuilt at Burnham shops in 1959 for exclusive use on Denver Salt Lake City overnight businessman’s friend, the Prospector. Crankcase explosion on B unit in 1960 resulted in a repaint and a mismatch slightly; Key managed the job well, despite lots of back and forth with builder to get them right. I’m thrilled with them, just perfect. Rare treat. The cars are PRB and one scratch build from a long time friend of the very appropriate heavyweight baggage car. This was a short train and in the mid 60s carried a series of TOFC cars on the rear.

Not here directly, but clicking on the photo takes me to the video that does work. Nice!

Thanks Martin, glad it’s working, I can start adding videos without using YouTube. YouTube isn’t nearly as nasty as TikTok, or Meta, but it’s getting there. Gawd social platforming has gotten bad. I see now anytime you Google a subject and do images, irrevocably 99% of all the results are Facebook, **** Meta. Talk about sanctioning, freedom is dead online. You only see who paid the most, just like wars, they win they write history.

As long as folks know to click and go to the actual video, it's fine

YouTube isn’t nearly as nasty...

I find it highly useful for finding music!!!
