Another spectacular and realistic scene!

Was the original trim color a beige yellow? Most of the Grande Gold I have seen is more orange.

I love Geep's and E & F units of that generation. Did you do the weathering Erik? Looks great!

Great job weathering and you have the eye and talent to do it. If you have more photos of a weathered Geep I'd love to see it.

Yes. I'd like to see one a little closer in less of a "posed" setting. And, what were the origins of these models? Brass? From who?

First is a Red Caboose, second is Sunset (2021), 3rd a Red Caboose.

Details are all P&D and PSC etc. I wish I could afford the P&D brass trucks for those Red Caboose (Altas Roco) junk drives but it is what it is.

I have several of the RC GP9 shell kits in UP and they are fragile for sure. Those look like what I would have expected a KEY Geep to look like, but I don't think they ever went that direction. Beautiful models.

Having recently gone through some scenery projects for the club layout, I have a new-found appreciation for just how much work it takes to make scenery really look good. Erik consistently shows his talent in this regard. I would argue that the appeal of any model in this setting would step up a couple of notches. I say that not to take anything away from Erik's GPs but just to highlight how good the scenery is and how important it is to Erik's work.

One question for Erik: How do you think about depth of field? I believe in the real world almost everything in this photo would be in focus, with perhaps some blurring of the grass in the near field. Is putting the distant trees (and some of the train) out of focus a deliberate effect to emphasize the locomotives?

Good question and I remember a long time ago reading about how "pinhole" photography solved this problem. "Pinhole" photography could make the entire photograph in focus. IIRC, it took outdoor lighting or special lighting due to the small aperture, but the results were amazing.

I was really into camera photography back in the 70's and beyond and have tons of 35mm family photos. Then came the advent of the DLS camera which made film developing a thing of the past (for me). Then the pocket cameras took such good photos it obsoleted my DLS and was much easier to carry.

BUT, the iPhone blew everything away. The company bought senior management iPhone 11's back in the 20 teens and the wife upgraded us to the 13's just before we retired and what a game changer. No more out of focus DLS photos (mostly model trains by this time) and I can only imagine how much improved the newer model iPhones are.

Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack the thread. :(
