Yes - I think maybe Thomas was the only supplier of Fox trucks, although I seem to remember a pair of bronze sand-cast around here. We were going to cast some up lost-wax, but the master got lost.
Pete - no longer sure of the provenance of my ice cars, but I have squirrelled away a bunch of plywood scribed sides, and I think what we are looking at is a pair of Walthers or All Nation cars, modified with thicker wood inside, and some of those plywood sides glued on. I have a third, with All Nation roof, ends, and underframe, and plywood scribed sides, to more closely approximate the Varney model.
I just got a Westbrook and a Scalecraft off the eBay for cheap. Popsicle orange is on order, and they are both being rejuvenated for application of PFE decals. And I had started a scratch car, but cannot find my hinges and ladders. It just got set aside for later.
Back to the decals: I had Jim make some PRR Merchandise Service decals, and they really turned out well. Photo of the Varney and the O Scale version will follow.
To texas&pacific, who just rejoined us after a very long absence - a forum is only as good as its participants. Folks who do not participate will have a difficult time complaining about non-participation. We have lost good participants lately to OGR - Erik Lundgren now prefers OGR to our little forum. Yeah, I look over there, but I do not miss participating.
