The caption says it's a Boy Scout special "run through", which explain the UP in Palmer Lake. I would guess it's heading to Raton, New Mexico, which is near the big Philmont scout camp. I would have guessed the tracks are CB&Q Colorado Southern, but Raton is on the Santa Fe. Lots of speculation here, but cool train either way.

One of the lines was D&RGW, which became part of the SP, which became part of the UP.

Bob requested photos of the UP COLA E6 set. I have used his request as motivation to update the broken Photobucket links in this thread. I don't have them all updated yet, but the views of the E6 are in the initial post, which can be seen here:

I am embarrassed to see that the initial post was ten years ago next month. I have, over that decade, learned a great deal about the Adams and Son E6 casting sets and the Siebers Bros and Fernando Valley models made thereof, but the original COLA project has not seen much progress. This project is still on the bucket list. All I can say is that I hope, AT THE VERY LEAST, that another ten years doesn't pass before these are in operation.

I just went through all 15 pages. Yes, I do have things to do today, and I am off to do them. Might even make a couple hundred $. But I note that almost all Photobucket photos are simply gone. Hooray for Photobucket!

I am having slightly better luck with Shutterfly.

Last couple of pages mention TCA-Western. I finally had them take my photos down, since they refused to credit me in each caption. I thought I was being reasonable allowing free use of my work in exchange for accurate captions and my name as copyright owner under each photo.

They still have scattered photos of mine in other areas, but they are freight cars, and really difficult to prove, let alone worth the effort. I do hope someday someone sues them for copyright infringement. I have better things to do.

But yeah - the photos that remain here are truly worthwhile. I may have to do a COLA Diesel one of these days. Tempting to make the roof brown, although not sure that would be prototypically correct.

Where did all those participants go? Must have been at least 15 different contributors. All off to Facebook?
