Grabowski N5c,....my 1st full build
Re: Grabowski N5c,....my 1st full build
Thanks, Dave. I didn't think I had the ability to build the Grabowski kit either. I decided to give it a shot since I had the proper equipment, I just did not have the proper experience. But it came out fine. The other two were relatively easy as all that called for was minor detailing and painting/lettering which I have 40 years of doing. And yes in deedy, in 1961 the PRR started painting the sides only of the cupola a chrome yellow, to indicate the cabin car was assigned to pool service, which meant any crew could use that cabin, usually mainline service west of Harrisburg. Prior to then each crew was normally assigned to their own specific cabin. After that first experiment with cupola sides only given yellow it was decided the entire cupola would be given the yellow treatment. There were also Gray color cupolas. Those indicated pool service on the main line under electric territory east of Harrisburg.
