Sipping and Switching Society of North Carolina Modules (HO)

The Sipping and Switching Society of North Carolina is a 20+ year old HO group with a really innovative module design.

They make a kind of torsion box out of thin plywood. Their design is strong enough that they can attach wheels and roll their modules from their vehicles to their setup location. The design is also rigid and stable enough that they can lay their track right to the edges of their modules -- they don't use short connector tracks -- and the modules have alignment pins to align everything up. They use metal templates to locate the alignment pins and track at the module edges.

At the end of that three minute long video the modules are perfectly aligned and trains can roll over the joint.
