Well, I cheat. Instead of cranked axles, I do an eccentric, and use a strap to impart motion. I did make the double Walschaerts valve gear accurately, and with Jay's help, along with spindles from Dennis, I have made credible Gresley gear for the two SP locomotives and the giant 4-12-2. That one I skipped the center rod, and you know what? I had to look carefully to make sure I had omitted that detail.

I think Dennis made cranked axles for his 4-12-2.

To me your stuff is like Murphs 3 R layout. I see something new or enjoyable everytime he posts photos of his layout.
I always look for photos of your impressive work.

I enjoy seeing all layouts and equipment that is posted on MTJ. It is fascinating seeing everybodys ideas about model railroading.
