When I saw that one post I thought the similarity was uncanny.

I wonder if Bob2 or Butch know. Is George DeSantis a real person, or an alias?

No idea who these guys are Chris. What is amusing to me is the number of supporters (read zealots) he had in the past who are now on the negative side. I know I got browbeat pretty good ( I can take it) for speaking out against George about delays, deposits and other BS while waiting for my Challenger. Many of his most outspoken supporters are now saying the same thing I did back then. I do feel sorry for those who have deposit with him. Not saying this project won't materialize, but eventually someone is going to be left holding the bag.

I bit the bullet and called George a few years ago to see if he could get new sand dome lids for a KOH's 9000 I purchased. He told me "why should I help you with anything, you spread lies about me". And "I even helped Bill Davis with some parts and he bought one of my projects from the builder after I walked away from it.......but I won't help you". I anticipated this response, but had to try anyway. I never confirm with Bill if this was true, because it just didn't matter.

BUT,

(1) He was at odds with Mr. Lee at the time of my request, so I doubt he could get what I needed anyway.
(2) I was always very careful what I wrote and said (my experiences only) and it was all the absolute truth...I didn't want to hear from his attorney.
(3) Additional information on the Challenger project came from two other major importers who shall remain nameless, but were right.

In the end I just built the lids and was pretty surprised how easy it was.

I too was very surprised that OGR allowed the thread to stay open this long....had it been an advertiser it would have been slammed shut the 1st day.

In my opinion, there was a noticeable difference in the way you conducted yourself as opposed to others. If you ever saw me as browbeating you personally then I see that as unfortunate. I can't say that I apologize because that was never my intention with you. I always saw you as having a more rational, level headed approach. There are people out there/here who are simply out for a pound of flesh. I know some who have hated Kohs for as long as I have been in 0 scale who would say anything to demean him (nicely put) since way back, but your approach has seemed above it for the most part. Those two levels probably distinguish why I participate as I do since I was LIED to by people with obvious bias ON THE OTHER SIDE for years.

I realize that Kohs has had personal issues with a good number of people and possibly rightly so, but those people insisting for all this time that he would not deliver based on their personal issues seemed more and more like a tactic to force him under.

You say that your sources were true but in the end the main contention we all were led to believe by the most vocal was that Kohs was going under and would not deliver again. How did that "reliable" info flip around. If the sources knew so much, how did Kohs make it work in the end? You may know for the Challenger project but for other projects that was probably before you got involved. Is this unreasonable to ask?

I know I asked about George Desantis specifically, but you responded with not knowing who "these guys" are. You really don't know who Bob Harris is?

Chris my comment was not directed at you and I never considered you browbeating me. You've always been an ambassador of goodwill in a sea of consternation IMHO and a sobering read when a thread is spiraling out of control. You also have been a very productive O Scaler, which means your opinions carry more weight than most IMHO. So, certainly don't take my comment that way.

I've forgotten so many last names over the years (and never knew some), that I truthfully don't recognize the Bob Harris name.....hopefully that won't embarrass me to tears when I learn or relearn who he is. Except for this forum and a few others I have no contact with the O scale community. Haven't attended an O scale show in decades.....but retirement is a few months away so we'll see what happens then.

No, but he does post a lot of political commentary he admits is wrong........almost a good fit for OGR.
