And the price of brass continues to grow...

I think the "S" stands for "SCARCE".

There is a huge amount of product out available used and coming in check out Brass Trains [Fl] or the Caboose Stop [Ct] websites, just saying.
All well and good, but I suspect the interest in HO for most on this forum is LESS THAN ZERO.

Understood, and nothing personal regarding my comments, just my opinion of the demographics here..

Counter example: Samhongsa G-gauge (not O) Union Pacific International F7 Phase 1 AB Diesel that sold for $470 on April 9 .
I thought those sold for thousands of dollars when new.

From what I've seen, the Korean formula was (and still is): the larger the scale, the higher the price. I once saw a dealer invoice for a circa 1978 Key O Scale F7 AB that was (as best I recall) round about $1100. I don't know when the G stuff was done, but I'm guessing a couple grand plus. George Kohs has a "Roundhouse" section on his website where he would list customers models, and I saw there, virtually the same set as what you show above listed at $2600. That was several years back. So it appears to me someone got a pretty decent buy. I would want to have the space to run them indoors.
Consider that the recent run of Key Cab Forwards went for 7K plus.

Scale City is one of our posters. He is setting a new high in the price of brass - here is a US Hobbies MT-4 that sold for five grand! These things, painted and weathered, have sold for $900 at OSW over the last decade.

If the thing is sold he should END the auction, so it doesn't appear online. I missed the SOLD in the title because I don't expect to see SOLD in what appears to be live auction.
Not trying to start a big argument here, but there is no way of knowing what the thing sold for if it sold off auction. Your $900 price is as lot closer to reality.

Strange. Both ads are still there. Maybe he will pop up and tell us what happened?
I was bemused by the Max Gray Daylight for $2500, but figured the seller did not know the market. Haven't seen the Adams E6 pair lately; they must have sold.
I aam buying so little these days - It really is only a matter of curiosity. I am building another 40' of train rack in the Decathlon hangar, so I can vacate the train room for a new roof. No room for more trains at any price.

That was the previous listing. The seller upped his opening bid.

With no bidders! Ebay doesn't show it as sold but the listing says it is. Something strange in the neighborhood?

Agreed. Raising the opening bid may have been a mistake correction, or it may be a manipulation - which would be consistent with the "sold" description for an ongoing auction.

I'm not a fan of his mono-tone weathering jobs.
