Yeah, He rants and rants. In the end, he just hurts his sales.
He does seem to have a large inventory of old USH parts. Wonder is he purchased the last of the USH parts when they folded.

California Proposition 65
https://www.sema.org/prop65
California’s Proposition 65 Labeling Law
Proposition 65 (Prop 65) is a California law that gives consumers and their attorneys the ability to sue businesses that do not include warning labels on products containing chemicals associated with cancer and birth defects. The law has spawned a predatory trial lawyer industry focused on using the law to net large settlements. The only companies safe from the reach of Prop 65 are those not producing or selling merchandise in California. Otherwise, if you are a multi-state retailer, distributor, or manufacturer whose products end up in California, Prop 65 can be costly if you are not prepared. This article reviews the law and provides some compliance recommendations.

Forgotten his name now - he also bought out the stock of Pittman trolleys when those were discontinued. Bought a few of those castings from him in the distant past.
He rants, but then he just blends into that crowd.....

He dose not want to deal with Ca. sales tax and paper work involved. At some point. Things will change with ebay. You will be forced to collect and report sales tax.

Actually, I think eBay will end doing that for everyone so that everyone can have more to complain about regarding eBay.

Re: No California Sales!
There is actually a difference between "me" and "myself".
California allows casual sales, but once you pass a certain point, you become liable for collecting and reporting sales tax. If a Californian buys a pair of socks from Duluth, that Californian is obliged to report the purchase and pay a "use tax."
I can see his point, but rather suspect that it is more ideological than just avoiding paperwork.

The people that vote these politicians into office that make these laws will reap what they sow.

Jon,
Not all of us vote for these AHs. It's mostly the nitwits in San Fan & LA areas. I would bet this seller didn't create the problem.

So label everything and mark up the cost of everything (Sorry Jay and Bob) going to CA to cover the cost of the labeling.

There's standard wording on labels for just that reason. No big deal to add.

Re: No California Sales!
While searching through internet reason for not selling in Ca. I found that Home Depot and Menards are being sued. In a class action. They sell 4x4 posts that measure 3.5x3.5 mislabeled lumber. Not labeled pre kiln size.

A 2x4 hasn't been 2x4 in eons. Lumber has been that way for years. That suit should be kicked out in about 5 seconds. The dimension given is before the lumber is milled.
