Some old O scale stuff that may be of interest...
There was an O scale modeler here in town that passed away some time ago. The guy that bought the house from the estate found the remains of some O scale models, and other miscellany, in the house. He's not a modeler and has no interest in the leftovers. However, he happens to know a guy that is a modeler, who happened to show up at one of my local nmra division meetings, who ended up talking to me. I'm one of only two or three 2 rail guys in town here, that I know of, and the only guy at the division in O scale.
Anyway, I took a look at everything. I don't personally have any interest in any of it. But some of the stuff may be of interest to people here. I don't even really know who made most of it. I have no idea of value for anything, whether anything is truly complete or missing parts, or anything of that sort. One thing I see that appears to be missing is the sides for some extruded aluminum passenger cars. Floors and roofs are there.
I will post a link to a dropbox folder with pictures of the goods. No photo limitations then. If anybody is interested in any of the stuff, let me know. I can pass along contact info for the owner, or pass along your info to the owner. I suppose I could act as an intermediary, but I'd rather not beyond putting two people together. Frankly, I wouldn't know what I was talking about anyway, which means I'd probably screw something up. I have no idea on what the stuff is worth, if anything, nor do I really know what the owner would seek for any of the parts. If haggling or discussion on price is going to be required, I'd prefer that people do that directly and leave me out of the middle.
Here's the link to my dropbox folder:

Some of the stuff looks nice, but without context I don't know what else to say about it.

Not a link to your Dropbox folder..........
Don’t think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It’s self-conscious, and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can’t try to do things. You simply must do things.

Nice that you're trying to help Jim. That's what it's all about.

Ok, thanks for the heads up on the link. That was left over from the thread drift on Jon's post. I corrected the link above.

Not pictured in the dropbox photos are a decent lot of C&O drawings of various sorts. The original owner was an employee of the Toledo Terminal/C&O in the mechanical department. There are miscellaneous drawings done by him, as well as several others. One of the "others" I found interesting are prints for many vessels from the C&O float operations. This includes car floats from operations in the Detroit area, plus at least one of the Lake Michigan car ferries.
For any of that type of material that doesn't find a home, I've suggested he donate it to the C&O Historical Society. The guy doesn't want any of this stuff, but I sense that he's being opportunistic, at least on a cursory level, and will happily sell rather than trash it if a buyer suddenly appears from the ether. It would seem like a waste for some of it to just go to the dump, out of convenience.

Jim,
If possible, I would like to purchase the UP drivers.

Are the cast observation ends still available? If so I would be very interested. Also I have pre punched window strips that go with the Mac shops roofs and floor assemblies pictured

Terry,
So far Jay has asked for the UP drivers. I will put you down for the obs ends. Are you interested in the floors and roofs?

Jim, The picture with the paper box #18 if the box has whats listed in it I would be interested. I was merely stating that I have about 5 maybe 6 sets of window strips that will go with the aluminum floors and roofs. if any body can use em.

No idea at the moment what the price might be. In a day or two, once people have had a chance to say if they want stuff, I'll get in touch with the guy that owns everything and see how he wants to proceed. I'm considering all interest to be conditional at this point, pending prices. I'll go out on a limb and suggest that pricing for most items will be reasonable. I don't think the guy is expecting to get rich off selling any of this stuff.2railjon wrote:I’ll take the trucks if the price is right!
